Since 2009, Caminhos Language Centre has been the leading school in Brazil for learning Brazilian Portuguese. Located in the vibrant neighbourhood of Ipanema in Rio de Janeiro, we offer both group courses and private classes at all levels throughout the year.

Our school provides a laid-back, friendly, and international environment, creating the perfect atmosphere for our students to learn Brazilian Portuguese while enjoying the wonders of Rio! We go beyond just classes; we offer a variety of after-school activities for students to practice their Portuguese skills and immerse themselves in the rich Brazilian culture.

What makes us special is our commitment to making a positive impact on the community through our own social program, Mais Caminhos, dedicated to helping Brazilian children and teenagers in need.

We caught up with School Director Jascha Lewkowitz to ask him about his school, Rio de Janeiro and joining IALC!

What's special about Rio de Janeiro?
Rio de Janeiro needs no introduction, with its vibrant beaches, lively music scene, and warm, welcoming people. There's something for every enthusiast – from beautiful hikes in the rainforest to numerous cultural landmarks and museums. The city boasts a fantastic nightlife, and sports enthusiasts will find activities everywhere. It is undeniably one of the most breathtaking and bustling cities in the world, offering a diverse range of experiences, whether you're a nature lover, culture buff, or someone seeking entertainment.

What are your most popular courses?
Our most popular course is the Intensive 20-hour group course, providing a comprehensive language learning experience on weekdays from 09:00 to 13:00. Additionally, our private lessons, available for flexible scheduling, are in high demand.

Why did you decide to join IALC and how do you feel about it?
After 15 years of continuous growth and positive feedback from our students, we believed it was the right time to connect with other reputable language schools. Joining IALC not only signifies our commitment to excellence but also opens up opportunities to engage with more agencies and other language schools. I'm really happy and proud that Caminhos Language Centre is now part of IALC. It's like a big thumbs-up for the quality of education we offer and provides a chance to collaborate with like-minded institutions.
